Seniors and College Kids
I am a child, a parent and a grandparent. I am blessed to have two healthy, elderly parents. The older they get, the more amusing they become. They are, in some ways, like college students. They stay up late at night. They eat at odd times. They have no structure and many decisions are made "on the fly". They hop into a car and take off without buckling their seat belts. When my sister and I lecture them, you see the words going in one ear and out the other. They roll their eyes as if we have no sense in our heads. When we ask them certain questions, we know they answer us with what we want to hear and not what really happened. They have become a sneaky duo that thinks they have gotten the better of us. We try to be stern with them and sometimes have to hide our laughter. I just hope they don't book a trip to New Orleans for spring break. I do not want to see my mom with her shirt up and beads around her neck.
